i went to the dentist for the third time during the past 6 weeks. i hope it was the last time for another 6 months. it doesn’t hurt that much, but it’s pretty ugly to sit with an open mouth for three hours.

internationalising big time

the swedish and dutch translations for istiyor.us/ichwür.de came in. two european languages i like the most. i’m excited for the results. we have two local partners, which are going to manage the site. it’s going to be cool to have your own project in a language, which you don’t understand. =)

i would go into the theory of community management, if i had the time. may be i write a book about it, after i retire.

schwarzwald

i’ve been on vacation in the black forest. we were in a big old farmhouse in the middle of the german black forest. it was pretty cool. now i’m back, got myself a bit of cold but it’s ok, i think.

barcamp offenburg

today, i was at barcamp offenburg.

i was offline (by choice) during the event. that’s why, some quick notes afterwards:

-great weather, great location. lunch and feedback sessions took place outdoors. burda media park is inside as cool as it looks from the outside.

-the rooms had round tables in them, which contributed much to the participation during sessions. to be remembered, if i take part in a similar organization.

-less people means more networking. at least for me.

-this was my third barcamp in germany (and at all), and i knew more than half of the participants. the blogosphere/camposphere is still small.

-the german blogosphere is small but still much larger than the turkish one. what amazes me about the german enterpreneurs and bloggers is that they are far away from fighting against each other and somehow there is this rreally peaceful atmosphere in all of these events. not that i sensed tension in istanbul last week, but as far as i can recall, the second barcamp in istanbul and the web seminars (similar web event in istanbul) were at the same day. for me, this is a sign of some kind of struggle or miscommunication.

-the session about organizing a barcamp gave some really cool insight. thanks to all who told about their experiences and of course thanks to the orga-team.

-next stop -for me- is barcamp bodensee in a month. it’s going to be my fourth barcamp and i plan to do a session this time. most probably about the web 2.0 market in turkey. anyone interested? contact me.

what UP?!

Chelsea beats ManU and i’m on my way to Freiburg. The game was worth missing out the first day of the barcamp.
